21Shares, a leading provider of cryptocurrency ETFs, has filed a Form S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a Dogecoin ETF. The proposed ETF would track the performance of Dogecoin, a popular cryptocurrency known for its community-driven nature and humorous branding.
The Dogecoin ETF would provide investors with exposure to the cryptocurrency's price movements, without the need to directly purchase and hold Dogecoin. The ETF would be listed on a major U.S. exchange and would be designed to track the performance of Dogecoin, with the goal of providing investors with a convenient and transparent way to gain exposure to the cryptocurrency.
"We are excited to bring the first Dogecoin ETF to the U.S. market," said 21Shares CEO, Hany Rashwan. "Dogecoin has a dedicated community and a strong brand, and we believe that an ETF will provide investors with a new way to access this exciting cryptocurrency."
The proposed ETF would be an actively managed fund, with the investment manager actively monitoring the market and making adjustments to the ETF's holdings as needed. The ETF would have a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.95%, which is competitive with other cryptocurrency ETFs in the market.
The filing of the Form S-1 is the first step in the process of bringing the Dogecoin ETF to market. The SEC will review the filing and may request additional information or changes before approving the ETF. If approved, the ETF is expected to launch in the coming months.
