BitVMX Unleashes SDKs for Scalable Bitcoin Applications
Rootstock Prepares to Release SDKs for Bitcoin Layer 2s Using BitVMX
April 8, 2025 - Rootstock, a leading provider of blockchain infrastructure, is set to release software development kits (SDKs) for building layer 2 solutions on top of Bitcoin using BitVMX, a virtual machine designed specifically for the Bitcoin network.
The SDKs, which are expected to be released in the coming weeks, will enable developers to create custom layer 2 protocols and applications on top of Bitcoin, leveraging the security and scalability of the world's largest cryptocurrency.
BitVMX is a new virtual machine developed by Rootstock that allows for the execution of smart contracts and other custom code on the Bitcoin blockchain. By using BitVMX, developers will be able to build layer 2 solutions that can interact seamlessly with the Bitcoin network, without the need for a separate blockchain or sidechain.
The release of the SDKs is expected to be a major milestone for the Bitcoin ecosystem, as it will enable the development of a wide range of new applications and use cases on top of the Bitcoin network. This could include decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, gaming ecosystems, and social media networks, among many other possibilities.
"We're thrilled to be releasing these SDKs," said a spokesperson for Rootstock. "We believe that BitVMX has the potential to be a game-changer for the Bitcoin ecosystem, and we're excited to see what developers will be able to build with these tools."
The release of the SDKs follows a period of significant development and testing by Rootstock, which has been working closely with the Bitcoin community to ensure that the technology meets the needs of developers and users.
The SDKs are expected to be widely adopted by developers and will be available for download on the Rootstock website. For more information, please visit www.rootstock.com.
