Metaplanet CEO Predicts More Firms Will Create Bitcoin Treasuries Amid New Category of Company

In a recent interview, Metaplanet CEO, Brian Kelly, predicted that more companies will follow in the footsteps of MicroStrategy and create Bitcoin treasuries amid a new category of companies that are embracing the cryptocurrency.

As reported by The Daily Hodl, Kelly believes that the trend of companies holding large amounts of Bitcoin on their balance sheets will continue to grow, driven by the increasing adoption of the cryptocurrency and the need for companies to diversify their assets.

"I think we're going to see a lot more companies follow in the footsteps of MicroStrategy and create Bitcoin treasuries," Kelly said. "I think we're creating a new category of company that's going to be Bitcoin-friendly, and I think that's going to be a big trend in the next few years."

Kelly's prediction comes as MicroStrategy, a business intelligence software company, has been making headlines for its large-scale Bitcoin investments. In February, the company announced that it had purchased an additional 10,000 Bitcoins, bringing its total holdings to over 100,000 Bitcoins.

The CEO's comments also come as Bitcoin continues to gain mainstream acceptance, with major companies such as PayPal and Square now offering Bitcoin services to their customers.

While some have raised concerns about the risks associated with holding large amounts of Bitcoin, Kelly believes that the benefits of diversifying a company's assets with the cryptocurrency outweigh the risks.

"I think the benefits of holding Bitcoin are huge," Kelly said. "I think it's a great way to diversify your assets, and I think it's a great way to protect your purchasing power over time."

The trend of companies creating Bitcoin treasuries is likely to continue, as more and more companies look to diversify their assets and take advantage of the growing demand for the cryptocurrency.
