HIIS-Ingalls Shipbuilding Celebrates Apprentice School Graduates
Pascagoula, MS - HIIS-Ingalls Shipbuilding, a leading shipbuilding and repair company, is proud to announce the graduation of its 2023 Apprentice School class. The ceremony took place on March 25, 2023, at the Ingalls Shipbuilding Center.
The 2023 class consisted of 34 apprentices who completed the four-year program, which combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction. The apprentices were trained in various shipbuilding and repair skills, including welding, pipefitting, and electrical work.
"We are thrilled to celebrate the graduation of our 2023 Apprentice School class," said Brian Hallman, HIIS-Ingalls Shipbuilding's Apprentice School Director. "These individuals have worked extremely hard to achieve this milestone, and we are proud of their dedication and perseverance."
The graduation ceremony featured keynote speaker, Captain Michael E. McNeil, USN (Ret.), who emphasized the importance of the shipbuilding industry and the role that apprentices play in its success. The event also included a presentation of diplomas, a reception, and a tour of the Ingalls Shipbuilding Center.
The 2023 Apprentice School class joins a long tradition of skilled shipbuilders and repairmen who have graduated from HIIS-Ingalls Shipbuilding's Apprentice School. The school has been in operation for over 70 years, and its graduates have gone on to build successful careers in the shipbuilding and repair industry.
