Meta Announces Addition of Patrick Collison and Dina Powell McCormick to Board of Directors

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, today announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors: Patrick Collison, CEO of Stripe, and Dina Powell McCormick, former Deputy Secretary of State.

Collison, a well-known entrepreneur and investor, has been the CEO of Stripe since 2009. Under his leadership, Stripe has grown into one of the most successful and influential fintech companies in the world. Collison has also been an active investor and advisor to various startups and companies, including Meta's portfolio companies.

Powell McCormick, a seasoned diplomat and business leader, served as the Deputy Secretary of State from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, she was the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs. Powell McCormick has also held various leadership roles in the private sector, including as a managing director at Goldman Sachs.

The addition of Collison and Powell McCormick brings the total number of members on Meta's Board of Directors to nine. The new board members will join existing members, including Zuckerberg, Sheryl Sandberg, and Marc Andreessen, among others.

Meta's Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the company's overall strategy, direction, and operations. The company's board members bring a diverse range of perspectives and expertise, including technology, business, finance, and public policy.

The appointments are effective immediately, and Collison and Powell McCormick will serve for a term of three years.
