As we near the midpoint of the year, it's a good time to take a step back and reflect on the first quarter's performance. For the past three months, I've been tracking the stocks in my portfolio, and I'm excited to share my top performers with you.

After a strong start to the year, my portfolio delivered returns that exceeded expectations. Here are the three best-performing stocks in my portfolio during the first quarter:

  1. NVIDIA (NVDA): The leader in graphics processing units (GPUs) and artificial intelligence (AI) computing continued to shine in the first quarter. NVIDIA's stock rose 25% as the company's datacenter and gaming businesses remained strong. The company's acquisition of Mellanox Technologies also contributed to the stock's performance.

  2. Shopify (SHOP): E-commerce continued to boom in the first quarter, and Shopify's stock benefited from the trend. The company's omnichannel platform allowed merchants to sell across various channels, and its revenue growth accelerated. Shopify's stock surged 23% as investors bet on the company's continued dominance in the e-commerce space.

  3. Zoom Video Communications (ZM): As remote work and virtual meetings became the new norm, Zoom's stock soared 22% in the first quarter. The company's platform allowed users to seamlessly connect and collaborate, and its revenue growth remained robust. Zoom's strong performance in the first quarter suggests that its dominance in the video conferencing space will continue.
