NVIDIA Announces Isaac GR00T N1, the World's First Open Humanoid Robot Foundation Model and Simulator

March 25, 2023

NVIDIA, a leader in AI computing, announced today the release of Isaac GR00T N1, a groundbreaking open humanoid robot foundation model and simulator. This innovative technology is designed to enable developers, researchers, and educators to create and train AI-powered humanoid robots, paving the way for breakthroughs in fields such as robotics, healthcare, and education.

Isaac GR00T N1 is a comprehensive foundation model and simulator that provides a realistic and interactive environment for training and testing humanoid robots. The model is based on NVIDIA's Isaac SDK, which is a suite of tools and APIs for building and deploying AI-powered robots.

The foundation model includes a range of pre-trained AI models, including computer vision, natural language processing, and reinforcement learning models. These models are designed to enable robots to perform tasks such as object recognition, grasping, and manipulation, as well as more complex tasks like human-robot interaction and collaboration.

The simulator allows developers to train and test their robots in a virtual environment, reducing the need for physical prototypes and minimizing the risk of damage or injury. The simulator also enables researchers to test and evaluate their algorithms and models in a realistic and controlled environment, accelerating the development of new AI-powered robots.

"We are excited to release Isaac GR00T N1, which represents a major milestone in the development of humanoid robots," said Rob Farrow, Vice President of AI Research at NVIDIA. "This technology has the potential to transform industries such as healthcare, education, and manufacturing, and we are eager to see the innovative applications that developers and researchers will create with it."

Isaac GR00T N1 is available now for download from the NVIDIA Developer Zone. For more information, please visit the NVIDIA website.
