American Battlefield Trust Offers Trio of Ways to Mark 250th Anniversary of Revolutionary War

Harpers Ferry, WV - The American Battlefield Trust, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and interpreting the battlefields of America's founding conflicts, is marking the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War with a trio of unique and engaging ways for the public to participate.

The trust is offering a special package deal for visitors to its flagship museum, the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, which commemorates the pivotal Battle of Harpers Ferry in 1862. The package includes a guided tour of the park's historic sites, including the iconic Harpers Ferry Train Station, as well as a special exhibit on the Revolutionary War.

Additionally, the trust is launching a social media campaign, #RevolutionaryWar250, which encourages the public to share their own stories and memories of the war. Participants can share photos, videos, and personal anecdotes about their ancestors who fought in the war, or about their own experiences with American history. The trust will also be sharing its own stories and insights on social media throughout the year.

Finally, the trust is partnering with the National Park Service to offer a special "Revolutionary War 250th Anniversary Commemoration" event on September 3, 2023, at the Saratoga National Historical Park in Stillwater, New York. The event will feature a reenactment of the Battle of Saratoga, which was a turning point in the war, as well as a series of educational programs and activities for visitors of all ages.

"We are thrilled to be marking this significant anniversary in American history," said American Battlefield Trust President, Keith S. Gibson. "Our goal is to educate and engage the public about the Revolutionary War, and to inspire a new generation of Americans to learn about and appreciate this pivotal moment in our nation's history."
