Rumble and Rebel News Sue MP Saks and Others for Conspiring to Violate Free Speech Rights

Toronto, ON, April 7, 2025 – Rumble and Rebel News, two prominent digital media companies, have filed a lawsuit against Canadian Member of Parliament (MP) Saks, several other government officials, and multiple internet service providers (ISPs) for allegedly conspiring to violate their free speech rights.

The lawsuit, filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, alleges that the defendants have engaged in a coordinated effort to suppress and censor the plaintiffs' online content, in violation of their constitutional right to freedom of expression.

According to the complaint, the defendants have been working together to silence Rumble and Rebel News by targeting their online platforms and services. The plaintiffs claim that the defendants have used their positions of power to manipulate the Canadian internet infrastructure, making it increasingly difficult for the plaintiffs to reach their audience and share their content.

The lawsuit specifically targets MP Saks, who is accused of using his position to push for increased regulation of the internet and social media, allegedly with the goal of silencing dissenting voices. The complaint also names several other government officials, including the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, and the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, who are accused of working together to implement policies that stifle online speech.

Rumble and Rebel News are seeking damages, injunctive relief, and other remedies to stop the defendants' alleged violations of their free speech rights. The lawsuit also seeks to hold the defendants accountable for their actions and to ensure that they do not continue to interfere with the plaintiffs' ability to share their content and ideas with the public.

"We will not stand idly by while our right to free speech is being systematically eroded," said a spokesperson for Rumble and Rebel News. "We will fight tooth and nail to protect our ability to share our content and ideas with the world, and we will not let the defendants' alleged conspiring to silence us succeed."

The lawsuit is the latest development in a long-standing battle between Rumble and Rebel News and the Canadian government over issues related to online speech and censorship. The plaintiffs have been vocal critics of government attempts to regulate the internet and social media, and have argued that such efforts are a threat to free speech and democracy.
