US Marine Corps Officers Visit Ingalls Shipbuilding Facility
HII Hosts US Marine Corps Officers at Ingalls Shipbuilding
Pascagoula, MS - Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) welcomed a group of US Marine Corps officers to its Ingalls Shipbuilding division in Pascagoula, Mississippi, for a unique leadership development opportunity.
The visit, which took place on April 14, brought together 15 Marine Corps officers from the 1st Marine Division, 2nd Marine Division, and the Marine Corps War College. The officers were invited to HII's Ingalls Shipbuilding division to learn about the company's shipbuilding capabilities and to engage with HII's leadership team.
During their visit, the officers toured the shipyard, gaining insight into the construction and repair of naval vessels, including the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and the LPD-17 San Antonio-class amphibious transport docks. The group also met with HII's shipbuilding leaders, including Ingalls Shipbuilding President Kari Wilkinson, to discuss the company's culture, values, and commitment to quality and safety.
"We are honored to have had the opportunity to host these exceptional Marine Corps officers at Ingalls Shipbuilding," said Wilkinson. "Their visit allowed us to share our passion for shipbuilding and our commitment to supporting the men and women who serve our country. We believe that this experience will help build relationships and foster a deeper understanding of the importance of our work in supporting the US Marine Corps and the US Navy."
The visit was part of HII's ongoing efforts to build relationships with the US military and to support the company's role in building and maintaining the US Navy's fleet. HII has a long history of supporting the US Navy and the US Marine Corps, and the company is proud to be a part of the team that helps to defend the nation.
"We are grateful for the opportunity to host these fine officers and to share our expertise and facilities with them," said Wilkinson. "We believe that this experience will be of great value to them, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with the US Marine Corps and the US Navy."
