Baltimore, MD - Maryland Public Television (MPT) is proud to present its 21st annual Chesapeake Bay Week, a week-long celebration of the region's iconic waterway. This year's Chesapeake Bay Week will kick off with a special premiere of the documentary "The Chesapeake Bay: A Treasure of the Past, A Legacy for the Future" on Monday, April 20, at 8:00 PM. The documentary explores the history and significance of the Chesapeake Bay, featuring stunning footage and interviews with local experts.

Throughout the week, MPT will air a series of documentaries, specials, and episodes that focus on the Chesapeake Bay and its ecosystem. These programs will cover topics such as water quality, wildlife conservation, and the impact of climate change on the region.

In addition to the programming, Chesapeake Bay Week will also feature a range of community events and activities. These include a Bay-themed coloring contest for kids, a "Bay-themed" trivia contest, and a social media campaign encouraging viewers to share their own Bay-related stories and photos.

"Through this event, we hope to inspire a new generation of Bay stewards and to promote a deeper appreciation for the region's natural beauty and cultural heritage."
