Cathie Woods' ARK Invest Loads Up on Amazon, Coinbase, Offloads UiPath, Roblox

April 25, 2022 - Cathie Woods' ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) and ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF) have made significant changes to their holdings in recent weeks, according to the latest filings.

The most notable additions to the ARKK portfolio are Amazon (AMZN) and Coinbase Global (COIN). The ETF has acquired over 1.3 million shares of Amazon, valued at around $220 million, and nearly 2.5 million shares of Coinbase, valued at approximately $130 million. This comes as no surprise, given the massive market caps and growth potential of these two companies.

On the other hand, ARKK has significantly reduced its stake in UiPath (UIPATH), offloading nearly 1.2 million shares, valued at around $130 million. This move may be attributed to the software company's recent struggles, including a decline in its stock price and concerns over its valuation.

Another notable change is the reduction of ARK's stake in Roblox (RBLX). The ETF has offloaded around 1.1 million shares, valued at approximately $50 million, following the online gaming platform's disappointing quarterly earnings report.

In contrast, ARKF has made significant changes to its portfolio, focusing on fintech and digital payments. The ETF has acquired over 1.2 million shares of PayPal (PYPL), valued at around $150 million, and nearly 2.5 million shares of Stripe, valued at approximately $200 million. This comes as PayPal and Stripe continue to grow their presence in the digital payments space.

The changes in ARK's holdings reflect the fund's focus on innovation, growth, and disruption in various industries. As the investment landscape continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how ARK's holdings adapt to these changes.
